Hyperconnectivity Drives Broadband Wireless Revolution

Scott Wickware, General Manager of WiMAX at Nortel, closed his presentation “Revolutionizing Wireless Broadband” at WiMAX World Chicago with the phrase: “we are living a hyperconnected world.” According to Wickware, there is an increasing global trend toward hyperconnectivity: 16% of Internet users live a “hyperconnected” life, meaning they regularly use more than 7 devices and more than 9 applications; 36% are “increasingly connected,” meaning they use 4 devices and 9 applications; 20% are passive online users, and 28% are not very connected (results from a survey of 2,400 people). more…
