Maravedis: Will femtocells be used to deploy LTE rather than larger macro networks?
Nokia Siemens: We expect that the first LTE deployments will be large macrocellular networks starting in urban and suburban areas (where the data capacity demand is strong). Over time and depending on specific operator's strategies we will see LTE deployments in rural areas as well and we expect to see femtocell BTS for enhanced indoor coverage and performance. This timeframe will certainly be determined by the data volume uptake in the networks. more…
