WiMAXCountsT Rebranded 4GCountsT to Include LTE Operator
Case Studies, WiMAX Network Technologies
Service Expanding to Serve the Broader 4G Wireless Industry
Montreal, CANADA - March 9, 2009 –Maravedis (www.maravedis-bwa.com), a leader in
broadband wireless research, analysis and media, and developer of the industry leading
WiMAXCounts™ tracking service, today announced the rebranding of WiMAXCounts as
4GCounts™: to include 3G, LTE, and other broadband wireless access deployments
worldwide.
For over eight years Maravedis has been covering wireless broadband, focusing on emerging
technologies and market trends. In recent years Maravedis’ coverage has grown to include
WiMAX and, subsequently, LTE. The service name change to 4GCounts™ symbolizes the
expansion of development trends in the marketplace, including the LTE effort. The expanded
service anticipates further technology, service, and business developments as the industry
advances on the path to full 4G networks.
The same successful features available for tracking WiMAX deployments will now be extended
to LTE, including operator profiles, full interview transcripts, global statistics and trends, maps
and more as the market develops.
4GCounts™ will also be expanded to encompass country analyses and a comparison of
progress made by the various broadband wireless technologies, as well as assess respective
market shares among service providers. The new version of the tool will enable operators not
only to evaluate a single technology business case, but also to compare different technology
deployments for their target markets.
“The latest release of 4GCounts™ will address a key requirement for vendors and operators
alike – the need to develop a business case considering multiple advanced 4G technology
alternatives,” said Maravedis CEO & Founder Adlane Fellah.
Since its launch in 2007, network operators and equipment manufacturers around the world
have used the WiMAXCounts™ tool and statistics to draw key benchmarks for business cases,
understand CAPEX trends, and gain a sound understanding of real deployments. In fact
WiMAXCounts had become the de facto reference in the industry for WIMAX statistics and
trends worldwide. Guided by customer feedback from clients, the upgrades to 4GCounts™ answer the following questions:
For network operators:
- How does my business compare to my competition?
- How does my business compare to my regional peers?
- What operators are possible allies or take-over candidates?
- What device and service strategies are working for operators in similar demographic
regions?
For manufacturers:
- Which operators are using my radio equipment or chipsets?
- Which operators are using my competitors’ radio equipment or chipset?
- How many base stations and devices are deployed?
- What spectrum are operators using for 4G?
- How do I organize my sales team to pursue the right operators?
- How do I organize my sales team to pursue the right equipment vendors?
- Which operators should I approach directly?
